Flu And Sore Throat In Pregnant Women?
I want to ask… I am currently 2 months pregnant. I have flu, sore throat, I have taken CDR but it hasn’t recovered..rnWhat medicine is right for me?rnThank you..
Hi Theresa. The condition of the flu and sore throat in general can be caused by a virus where fatigue, stress, an unfavorable lifestyle can cause a decrease in the body's resistance, making it more susceptible to disease. The condition of pregnancy also slightly affects the immune system where there is a slight decrease in body resistance as a mechanism to protect the mother and baby. Therefore, the mother also becomes susceptible to disease. Pregnancy itself also makes you unable to take drugs carelessly because of the risk of affecting the fetus.
Consult with your doctor about your condition for treatment and further information. This is important considering that if your infection does not go away and is caused by bacteria, there is a risk of affecting the fetus. The doctor will examine your condition and help you choose the right treatment. Get enough rest, drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet, especially fruits and vegetables, and avoid strenuous physical activity. Hopefully helpful, and thank you. Regards, Dr Alyssa
