Hello Elina, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Symptoms of nasal congestion and runny nose generally occur due to viral infections due to immune system that is less than optimal, such as influenza or common cold. However, several other causes can also be the cause of these complaints, such as bacterial infections, allergies, irritation, and so on. In certain conditions these symptoms can be accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, sore throat, lumpy throat, cough, nausea, headache, fatigue, and so on.
To find out the cause of the physical examination and other additional checks are needed. If the cause of a symptom is a specific infection of the virus treatment may not be needed, symptomatic treatment / symptoms and enhance immunity are effective ways to relieve symptoms. But if a bacterial infection needs to be given antibiotics and if allergic needs to be given anti-allergic.
For now things you can do are:
Eat healthy and nutritious foods
Expand fruits and vegetables
Drink enough water, avoid cold
Get enough rest
Regular exercise
Avoid cigarettes and alcohol
Manage stress well
Avoid triggers that cause symptoms to appear
Use clothes that are thick and warm in cold weather
If the complaint continues for more than 3 days after the handling at home has been carried out to the maximum or the complaint is burdensome then immediately consult a doctor for further treatment.
In the face of the current COVID-19 pandemic we urge you to stay home if you don't need to leave the house, keep your distance from others, and regularly wash your hands with soap and running water.
That's all, hope it helps.
