Fluid From The Vagina After BAK During Pregnancy 38 Is That Amniotic Fluid?
I am 38 weeks pregnant, lately when I finish urinating, there must be more fluid that feels like to come out and when the lower abdomen comes out like it hurts. Is it amniotic fluid that is seeping or is the urine not yet finished? Thank you 🙂
Good evening, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Amniotic water is water that is in the membranes and functions one of which is to protect the fetus from shocks that may appear during pregnancy. Many parts of the body of the fetus are still very vulnerable and will be easily injured if there is no amniotic fluid. As gestational age progresses, the amount of amniotic fluid will gradually decrease and in its time, it will rupture as a sign of labor.
Premature rupture of membranes is a condition when the membranes rupture before a normal delivery, which is less than 37 weeks. This condition is a condition that must be treated seriously because before 37 weeks of gestation, the fetus is not yet ripe and the delivery process should not occur. But in your case, the age of 38 weeks has entered labor, precisely between 37-40 weeks, so if the membranes break in this time span, or even afterwards, the term is no longer premature rupture of membranes, because it's time for the fetus to be born.
Then regarding the sensation of rupture of membranes. This is a pretty complicated thing because not everyone experiences and feels the same. There are those who feel like dripping, there are those who feel like something is popping up, there are those that feel relieved, some break during sleep, there are those that come out profusely, some that come out asja ordinary, and don't even feel anything.
So indeed, we cannot be certain whether what you are feeling is indeed the membranes that are starting to seep or not. Our advice, because you are already 38 weeks pregnant, you should start going to the obstetrician regularly once a week, to do an ultrasound later and if your amniotic fluid is already seeping frequently, the ultrasound examination will definitely look to decrease in volume. If this is the case, you might have to have the delivery done so that your fetus doesn't get an infection because it's too long in the womb where the leaks have leaked. So, hopefully answering your question.
