Fluid Out Of The Ear Is Green In Children Aged 2 Years?
Hello, why is my child coming out of the liquid from the green ear? When I was 8 months old, the green liquid came out but thank you, it disappeared with the driver. But now at the age of 2 years, the green liquid came back
Thank you for the question.
Greenish discharge from the baby's ear most often indicates otitis media (inflammation of the middle ear). This condition is susceptible to infants due to the spread of inflammation from the airway that is not handled properly until it can reach the middle ear because it is connected through the Eustachian tube. Initially, this condition can cause the middle ear to become inflamed, resulting in fever, pain, hearing loss, and infants often become fussy, have trouble sleeping, and have difficulty eating and drinking. But over time, this otitis media can damage the eardrum, causing inflammation fluid that was originally retained in the middle ear to come out to the outer ear hole.
Not only otitis media, tear eardrums that make inflammation of the fluid out can also be triggered by other factors, such as the habit of digging excessive ears, intruding insects or foreign objects into the ear, also traveling to high altitude areas. Aside from otitis media, other conditions such as otitis externa, impacted cerumen, fungal infections in the ear canal, pre-auricular sinus fistula, etc. can also cause complaints like what your baby is experiencing right now.
This condition should be examined immediately by a doctor, ENT doctor, or pediatrician before it leads to serious complications, such as permanent hearing loss, or spread of infection to other organs, including blood, brain, and so on. Depending on the cause, your baby's condition can later be treated with medication, cerumen extraction, and even surgery.
For now, you can clean the liquid that comes out of your baby's ear with clean gauze. Avoid carelessly putting anything into the ear, including cotton buds and any ear drops. In order for the baby's immune system to improve, give him food and drink nutritiously every day. If he has a respiratory infection, treat the doctor early on, so that it does not spread to other organs, including the ears.
Hope this helps ...
