Hello. I want to ask, one of the ways to deal with arthritis is to take medicine that is recommended by the doctor. Are there foods that can help with arthritis? And also are there foods that should be avoided for arthritis sufferers?

Basically there are no specific foods that can directly and quickly overcome inflammation in the joints as anti-inflammatory drugs can reduce inflammation of the joints. However, there are several types of foods that have anti-inflammatory effects that might help even though there are no studies that show these foods can reduce joint inflammation effectively, including:

berries like strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry
vegetables like broccoli and vegetables with other green leaves
fish oil
fruits such as avocados, grapes, peppers, cherries, tomatoes, oranges
green tea
turmeric
dark chocolate
extra virgin olive oil

Foods that you should avoid are processed foods such as canned foods, processed meats (such as sausages, smoked meats, burger / patty, etc.), foods that contain lots of sugar, foods with high trans fat (such as margarine), cooking oil and fried foods. You are also advised to avoid excessive alcohol consumption and smoking.
