Foods With Complex Carbohydrates?
hello, does spaghetti which is widely sold in the market like in our supermarkets includes complex carbohydrates? and good for our diet menu? Or on the contrary, is spaghetti a source of bad/simple carbohydrates? when compared to brown rice / boiled potatoes which one is better?
Carbohydrates are simply divided into simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates are high in sugar but low in nutrients. They raise blood sugar levels quickly. Examples of simple carbohydrates include: granulated sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, honey, maple syrup, jam, jelly, soft drinks, candy, cake, yogurt, milk, chocolate, instant noodles etc.
Complex carbohydrates are often called healthy carbohydrates because they are high in fiber and low on the glycemic index, so they are often used to help maintain a healthy diet. Examples of complex carbohydrates are: whole grains and legumes like brown rice, cereals, potatoes, corn, oats, oatmeal, quinoa, avocado etc.
Spaghetti (which is made from wheat flour), brown rice and potatoes are good sources of complex carbohydrates. All three can be used to limit the body's calories. However, you can consider the total calories per 100 grams, where boiled potatoes are 76.7 kcal, brown rice 110.9 kcal and spaghetti 157.7 kcal.
In order for your diet to be effective, make sure you drink enough water and balance it with regular exercise.
