Frequent Headaches With A History Of Falling 8 Years Ago?
good evening doctor, so about 8 years ago I fell from a height of 3 meters my head leaked but not deep, and I was not taken to any doctor only compressed with ice cubes by my parents. And about 2 years recently I often experience migraine headaches on the left, where my head was injured 8 years ago. Is that okay?
Good evening, thanks for the question
Headache is a symptom that is quite often experienced after experiencing a head injury. About 30% of sufferers reported experiencing headaches that continue long after suffering a head injury. If the history of a previous head injury is classified as severe, headaches may be caused by surgery or by the accumulation of blood in the head.
Headache can also occur in a history of minor or moderate head injuries, such as the possibility that you are experiencing now, caused by changes in the head after injury, an injury in the skull or neck that has not fully recovered, tension or stress to the muscles around the head, or side effects from treatment. One form of headache after head injury can be a migraine attack.
1. Blunt or throbbing pain, usually only on one side
2. Nausea and vomiting
3. The head feels light
4. The intensity of moderate to severe pain
5. Hypersensitivity to light
If your headache complaints tend to be heavy you should do further tests with your doctor to get adequate treatment.
To alleviate these symptoms, do the following:
1. Get enough rest at night
2. Exercising regularly for example with aerobic exercise
3. Limit caffeine consumption
4. Limit consumption of foods that can trigger headaches, such as preserved food
5. Take pain medications such as paracetamol or ibuprofen
That's all, hope you can help.
