Frequently Pulling Hair When Feeling Sad And Angry, Depressed?
, I’m 20 years old. Some time later … when I was sad and angry ………….. I tried to pull my own hair. The more I try to stop the more I pull my hair. But I am well aware of what I am doing … I have never before been like this. I do have a habit of crying myself since middle school if … I have a problem. But not to hurt myself … what …… I need to check myself when it comes to this?
Thank you for the question.
We can understand how you feel and of course it is an unpleasant thing to experience such feelings. Previously to determine whether you are depressed or not, of course there are many aspects that need to be assessed in order to diagnose the disease, including symptoms that can indicate depression are:
Feelings of sadness, whether subjectively or observed by others Lack of interest in things Good weight changes (up / down) Changes in sleep patterns (sleep continues / difficulty sleeping) Becomes slower or can not be silent (observed) Decreased energy Despair and guilt Reduced concentration There are thoughts about suicide and symptoms usually last for a period of more than 2 weeks. However, there are other possible causes of complaints that you have, namely:
Anxiety disorders Bipolar disorders Psychotic disorders Therefore, you should check with a psychiatrist, because you cannot diagnose your own complaints, the doctor will ask you further complaints and do a physical examination or support if needed, then the doctor will provide therapy according to your complaint such as giving medication or doing psychotherapy.
Here are things you can do to deal with the problems that you have:
Try talking to people around you, can be close friends or family, and explain the problems you have. Remember that you are not alone. Trying to channel anger into positive energy, such as diverting it with useful things, like sports. Improve your lifestyle, get enough nutrition, drink 2-3L per day, avoid smoking and alcohol, and exercise regularly 3-5x a week. Enough sleep, at least 8 hours per day. Limit the use of social media. If there are signs of suicide, go to the nearest health service. Hope this helps ...
