Hello Sunariyah,

Thank you for the question.

After a miscarriage, both with a curette and without a curette, it is normal to experience bleeding. Usually the bleeding will start after a miscarriage, and last for 1-2 weeks and will gradually come out less and less. In some people, bleeding can appear again or not completely stop, approximately until a few weeks until menstruation thereafter. Bleeding that occurs is similar to when you are menstruating, but with an older brown color, and usually more when you get a curette. A discharge can also accompany this bleeding and this is normal.

Here are the things that need your attention and you should consult an obstetrician if you experience any of the following:

The bleeding is profusely until it fills 2 or more pads in one hour for 2 consecutive hours. Larger lumps come out like lemons. Have severe pain in the abdomen or back. Have a fever of more than 38 degrees Celsius. The smell is very fishy. Bleeding is accompanied by a yellowish green liquid. Hopefully this information can help.

Regards.
