Fungus In The Mouth In Children?

amualaikum doctor. My son is 10 months old. Since entering the age of 9 months my son’s mouth is full of white. I thought at first it was traces of milk or food, but over time it spread to the right and left oral mucosa, upper and lower lip mucosa, tongue, and palate. Until my son didn’t want to eat and his weight dropped. No fever. I checked with the doctor and was given nystatin. And already 4 bottles of mushrooms are still there. It was gone and now it’s back. Please explain and advise. Thank you

Hi Mrs. Endriana,
Complaints of fungus in the mouth of children is often a problem that many parents worry about. It can be prevented as well as completely treatable.
First, make sure the use of antifungal drugs given by the doctor is in accordance with the recommendations for use. Clean your child's oral cavity when bathing, or after feeding. You can clean the oral cavity with sterile gauze that has been dipped in warm (boiled) water and rub the gauze on the tongue and the entire oral cavity. give water after giving your child complementary foods.
If the complaint still persists or gets worse, immediately consult a doctor to look for other causes of your child's complaints.
