Good Fruit For Overcoming Anemia During Pregnancy?
hello I am 2 months pregnant whether consuming avocados can cause anemia because my Hb is low while avocados are very good for fetal development how is the solution yes, please answer, thank you
Hello Leli, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
In avocados there are no specific substances that can cause anemia. Avocados actually contain iron (although not too high in number) which can help increase your iron needs per day and prevent anemia. Avocados are not one of the recommended fruits for treating anemia, but they are a good source of fat for consumption (the human body also needs a little fat for good metabolism), a good source of potassium, and an excellent source of fiber. Avocados also contain many vitamins and other minerals (like vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, magnesium) which are also needed by women who are pregnant. Therefore avocado consumption is actually recommended for pregnant women.
Even so, you should still eat foods with balanced nutrition (meaning don't only eat avocados only). You also need carbohydrates, protein, and other vitamins and minerals that cannot be fulfilled only from avocado consumption. If you currently suffer from anemia, you should check with your obstetrician. Obstetricians can do certain tests to determine the cause of anemia and provide appropriate therapy to treat your anemia. Anemia in pregnant women can increase the risk of preterm labor, giving birth to babies with low birth weight, and increase the risk of complications during delivery. Therefore, if it is already known you have anemia, immediately go to an obstetrician.
