Green Slimy Colds, Itchy Throat, Fever And Headaches, Is It Related To Corona Virus?
Hello, I experience sneezing and then runny green runny nose for 3 days and only 1 day itchy throat. Whereas my husband had a fever and headache and then the flu but his snot was hard to come out and his throat itched, this happened after he got rained on and traveled a long distance using a motorcycle. Is that reasonable? Does this have something to do with covid-19 that is happening?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically the main symptoms found in COVID-19 are fever (more than 38 degrees Celsius) and dry cough. In people who have severe infections can also be found symptoms of shortness of breath. In adults, symptoms of infection in the nose are very rare too (such as colds and nasal congestion) although these symptoms can be found in children.
If you and your husband have no history of traveling to an infected country before, have never been in contact with someone who has just traveled to an infected country, and have never been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, then you and your husband are expected to only be isolated just stay at home. If there are other people who live in your house, use a mask at all times to prevent transmission, do not use cutlery together or eat from one plate together, and diligently wash your hands with soap. It's best not to leave the house unless it's really very urgent, even if you have to leave the house once, make sure you use a mask and try to always keep your distance from other people (at least 1.8-2 meters). Make sure you and your partner also always practice good cough and sneezing etiquette, cover your nose and mouth by using the elbows inside your arms.
If you have a risk of exposure to the corona virus (as mentioned above) or feel the symptoms of you / your husband are heavy, continue to have a fever and start feeling short of breath, try calling 119 ext 9 to find out the next steps you need to take to take COVID-19 examination.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
