r, I got married last November 11,rnThe last first day of menstruation was November 5.rnI did TP in early December, and the result was +. Then in Week 6 I checked with the doctor but didn’t see any gestational sac. On the 8th week, you can see the gestational sac and on the 10th week, there is still a bag, but the size is a little bigger. rnAccording to my doctor, at the age of 10th week, the fetus should have been seen. If the 12th week hasn’t seen progress, my doctor decided to take action. In addition, I have had spots for 4 consecutive days starting January 15, spots are brown, blackish red and sometimes fresh red. The blood has small thin clots.rnMy doctor gave boosters, blood boosters and vitamin As. folate.rnrnAccording to the doctor, is the gestational age always calculated based on the last menstruation?,rnApprox. what should I do so that my fetus continues to develop? rnAnd seeing conditions like this, are the spots that I experience a sign of danger to my fetus?

Hello Silta

Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com

Calculating gestational age there are three ways that can be used, namely calendar calculations through HPHT (first day of last menstruation), fundal height examination (FTU), and through ultrasound.

Calculating gestational age with HPHT is quite accurate, but if a person's cycle is irregular or long, the results are less accurate.

If your HPHT is on the 15th, then it is likely that your pregnancy is around 11 weeks. But if to make sure it comes back you should do an ultrasound.

It is normal to have spots like what you experienced at a young gestational age, because the fetus attaches to the uterine wall.

Several causes can make spots in young pregnancies such as:

- Hormonal changes

- Early sign of miscarriage

- Tired

- Bleeding after sexual intercourse

But it's best if you consult an obstetrician for a complete examination and provide medication according to your condition

Here are some tips for maintaining the fetus

- Manage stress well

- Get enough rest

- Drink lots of water

- Avoid strenuous activity

- Do bed rest

- Routine control to bring to the doctor
