I have a brother, a woman aged 27 years. About the last 3 years he did and talked about something that was not normal. He told the events that didn’t exist as if they were real. Dy hallucinating abnormal things. Like people making up freely without limits and not connected, but he believes his memory is right … and our memories are wrong. To hear whispers … to temperamental. Previously, she liked to be alone from siblings … struggled a lot in cyberspace. And make friends with outsiders. My question is, is it really dementia? The thing is when you go to the doctor, the diagnosis is dementia … isn’t it dementia dementia? Can it be cured?

1 Answer:

Hi.

Dementia is a condition in which there is decreased cognitive function of the brain. Dementia generally occurs in elderly people, but it can also occur at a young age which is commonly referred to as early onset dementia.

From the circumstances that your siblings are experiencing, if your siblings often hallucinate, feel that memories are not real, maybe it is because of a schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder. Schizophrenia can cause various symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, such as hearing a voice or a whisper, mutism, and delusions. Schizophrenia can be caused due to various factors such as genetics, excessive stress, environmental stress or chronic alcohol influence. Schizophrenia is treated using certain antipsychotic drugs that the doctor will prescribe later.

dementia does cause symptoms of senility, and it's easy to forget about what happened recently. But it could be that severe dementia can be caused due to organic brain damage, so it can also cause complaints like those of your siblings.

therefore, it is recommended that you check your brother directly to a psychiatrist, so that the doctor can further examine your brother's condition. Thus later the doctor can provide the right therapy. If it is because of a schizophrenia then this can usually be controlled with medication.
