After removing, is it true that bandages can only be removed after 7 days? What if the bandage is removed 2 days after removing the nails? What happened?

1 Answer:

Good evening, thanks for the question

After the nail extraction is performed, post-treatment wound care lasts for 7 days where the wound generally should not be exposed to water. This aims to prevent contamination of germs on the wound. Furthermore, the new nails will grow within 6 months to a maximum of 1 year. If the bandage is opened before that time, it is possible that the wound is still wet so it is more prone to contamination. We recommend that you close the wound again using a sterile bandage, but before the wound needs to be cleaned using a normal saline solution, dry it, then apply it with an ointment given, then cover it again with a sterile bandage.

That's all, hope you can help
Wassalam.
