Handling For Ears With Permanent Tinnitus?
Asalamualaikum, good afternoon. I want to ask, before I had seen a doctor and was diagnosed with permanent tinnitus, the reason was unknown because I was indeed late checking. Maybe because after recovering from illness a few years ago, kak era at that time I had to change drugs 4 times. Now after being diagnosed with permanent tinnitus, I asked the doctor how to use the hearing aid but the doctor did not recommend that I use it. When I asked the reason the doctor did not explain, just did not advise. By the way, the ear affected by tinnitus is only the right ear, while the left ear can still hear normally. Thank you 🙏
Hello Abdullah, Thank you for the question.
Tinnitus is a ringing sound, hissing, or whistling in the ear which is generally caused by a certain medical condition such as:
damage to the inner ear
middle ear infection
fluid buildup in the middle ear
buildup of earwax
thyroid hormone disorders
The use of hearing aids can help to disguise tinnitus by enlarging the sound from the surrounding environment. However, this usually depends on the severity of the condition you are experiencing. You should try to consult with other ENT specialists to request a second opinion regarding the use of this hearing aid. You can also discuss with your doctor about other treatment steps you can take, for example in the form of surgical procedures, sound therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, or tinnitus retraining therapy.
Hopefully this information is useful.
