Handling Of Dry, Flaky Nail Edges?
Hello. Why is the skin on the edge of my nails dry and peeling? I often rub it with Vasseline Gel but when it’s dry my skin peels back. it doesn’t hurt ish it’s just that my finger nails look ugly. What should I consume to overcome it?
Thank you for the question.
Dry, flaky nail edges may result from:
Poor nutrition (especially iron, vitamin B, and calcium)
Infection of the nails or surrounding skin, for example due to fungus or bacteria
History of injuries to the nails
Other conditions, for example seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, immune disorders, nail biting habits, contact dermatitis, and so on
Indeed, even though it does not feel painful, your condition makes the appearance very disturbed. Therefore, it is better to check yourself directly to a doctor or a dermatologist so that you are given the right treatment. At home, you can also do the following efforts:
Drink more, at least 1.5 liters per day
Do not smoke
Eat a variety of nutritious foods, especially those containing iron, B vitamins and calcium, such as red meat, green leafy vegetables, sea fish, nuts, milk and processed products.
Always keep yourself clean, especially around the fingers and nails
Do not carelessly use nail polish or perform other nail treatments without doctor's supervision
Do not exchange nail clippers with others
Hope this helps ...
