Handling Of Itchy, Sore, Dry And Scaly Skin Rashes?
Hello, I’m 26 years old I want to ask. I have a skin rash at the bottom of the nose, it feels itchy, dry, and sometimes scaly. In the corner of the eye is also red, itchy, dry, and somewhat swollen. And the neck also feels dry, itchy and reddish. I have gone to a dermatologist, but only given topical cream and wash my face, without prescription drugs taken. Do I need to do an allergy test and should I consult another dermatologist? Thank you
Thank you for the question.
Red rash that feels itchy, sore, dry, scaly, and swells in the area under the nose, corners of the eyes, and neck can not only be caused by allergies. It could also, skin rashes like this arise due to fungal infections, impetigo, miliaria, allergic contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, scabies, psoriasis, irritant contact dermatitis, drug eruptions, xerosis, cutaneous tuberculosis, and so on. These conditions are not always dangerous, but not all can also be considered trivial.
If indeed you have not found significant improvement related to your condition after undergoing a doctor's treatment, it is better to check yourself back to the dermatologist for further examination, for example by allergic tests, biopsies, blood tests, or maybe other supporting tests. The doctor who examines you directly certainly better understands the examination steps as to what needs to be done according to your condition.
In the meantime, you should also do:
Bathing more diligently, use a soap that contains moisturizer, use also good quality water when bathing
After bathing, dry with a soft fibrous towel on your skin, do not rub excess skin, even though it feels itchy
Use clothing that is soft, absorbs sweat, is loose, and is clean
Do not exchange any personal items, including toiletries and clothing, with others
After excessive sweating, take a shower so that your body is always clean
Improve the cleanliness and air circulation in your place of activity
Do not scratch the skin, or force the flaking scale
Keep yourself away from cold, dry air, dust mites, animal hair, seafood, eggs, nuts, milk or other dairy products, and various other substances, if they make your complaints worse.
Drink a lot of water
Expand relaxation and meditation, so as not to stress
Hope this helps ...
