Handling Of Swelling On The Baby’s Eyelids?
In the doctor, my child is 1 year old, he has eye pain for almost 1 week, his eyes are not red but swollen and remove a lot of yellow stool. What eye medication is recommended for my child? Thank you in advance.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Swelling of the baby's eyelids can be caused by several possibilities, including:
allergic (can be allergic to certain foods or drugs)
contact dermatitis (for example there are ointments, creams, or certain ingredients that are applied around the eye skin)
insect bites or other small animals
injury to eyes, face or head
hordeolum or kalazion
Drugs such as gentamicin ointment are hard drugs that should not be given haphazardly, especially in the eye area and in infants. If it has been a week that the swelling in your child's eyes has not improved and is actually getting bigger, you should take your child to the pediatrician for further examination and management.
Do not apply any cream or ointment to your child's eye area without seeing the child directly to the doctor. You can temporarily compress your child's eyes with warm compresses to help reduce swelling and discomfort in the eyes.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
