Hands Bitten By A Dog For The Second Time?
, last month I was bitten by a dog and I was given 3x injectionsrnI just got bitten by a dog on my finger, should I be given another injection or not?rnPlease answer immediately 🙁
In the treatment of dog bites, it is necessary to inject a vaccine to prevent rabies. Patients who have never been vaccinated before will receive 4 injections: 2 injections at the same time at the beginning of the bite, once on the 7th day and once on the 21st day. Vaccination can then be repeated one year later to strengthen immunity.
In cases of bites that have been vaccinated previously, the injections are only done 2 times, namely at the time of being bitten and on the 3rd day after the bite. In addition to vaccinating, it is also important to clean the wound thoroughly and report to the nearest RT/RW or puskesmas if you see a dog suspected of having rabies.
So, I hope it's useful
