Have Sex Before The KB Implant Is Removed?
I want to ask tomorrow I want to remove the implant but tonight I just finished having sex, can pregnancy happen if I remove this implant.rnThank you, please answer
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
KB implant (KB implant) is one type of hormonal family planning which contains the active component of the synthetic hormone progesterone. This hormone will then be implanted under the skin, usually in the upper arm, and then released slowly to modify the balance of reproductive hormones in your body. In effect, ovulation (the rupture of a mature egg) will be inhibited, cervical mucus will turn thicker, and the uterine wall becomes unsupportive for implantation (the implantation of a fertilized fetus).
In contrast to other contraceptives, such as birth control pills or injectable contraceptives, KB implants have a longer working time, which is generally 3 years. With this long working time, you can be protected from the potential for a longer pregnancy.
After the release of the KB implant, generally fertility will not immediately return to normal. This is because, your body needs time to restore the hormonal balance that was previously modified. Therefore, if you have sexual intercourse 1 day before the release of the KB implant, then the potential for pregnancy is actually very small.
However, even though the potential for pregnancy is very small, there is still no one who can guarantee 100% that you will not get pregnant. Therefore, if you and your partner still intend to delay pregnancy, in order to reduce the chances of pregnancy, you can use additional contraceptive methods, such as condoms.
That's our explanation. For details, please consult directly with an obstetrician, yes..
I hope this helps.
