Having Shortness Of Breath And Coughing?

Hello, 4 days I have experienced shortness of breath and cough in pregnancy. But shortness of breath often occurs when finished eating or at night, while for a little cough there is phlegm. Please explain whether this has something to do with the corona virus?

Hi Hilda,
Thank you for the question.
Shortness of breath and cough in pregnant women, which occurs mainly after eating and at night, are likely to indicate:
Allergies, for example food allergies, cold, dust
GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
Asthma
Other factors, such as rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, gastritis, weak heart, dry throat, excessive anxiety disorders, airway infections (including due to the recent Corona virus that has been raging lately), etc.
If the shortness appears mild, fever does not appear more than 3 days, vomiting, and you also do not have a history of traveling or contact with people who have traveled to an area with a local transmission of COVID-19 (a disease caused by a new Corona virus infection), presumably Your risk of contracting COVID-19 is quite small.
Even so, you are still advised to be vigilant, namely by:
Stay at home, only come out if urgent
Drink lots of warm water
Also consume lots of fruit and foods that are warm, don't be too greasy, gassed, and have artificial sweets
Do not immediately lie down after eating, give pause at least 2 hours
Improve personal hygiene and your environment
Do not contact with things that make you allergic, including food, cold, dust, and so on
Also avoid exposure to smoke, pollution, and dry air
Don't wear tight clothes
Calm your heart and mind
If the above steps do not succeed in alleviating your complaints, if other complaints arise that are more serious, or if you feel you have a risk of contracting COVID-19 (as we have mentioned above), try to check yourself directly to your doctor or obstetrician for evaluation and further handled yes ..
I hope this helps.
