Headache Accompanied By Sweating And Nasal Congestion?
I experienced the first symptoms of swollen gums along with a slimy nose. After the gums healed instead they became headaches, sweating and nasal congestion. Did I catch a cold / runny nose?
Hello Indra, thank you for asking.
Basically, swelling of the gums is not directly related to the slimy nose, except when the gum infection is very severe and spreads through the bones. Swollen gums are most often caused by infections due to food debris and bacteria that enter the gums. Swollen gums can be accompanied by pus formation. Headaches that you feel, may be caused by nasal obstruction.
Nasal congestion is caused by swollen nasal mucous membranes. This swelling can also cause a blockage in the mouth of the sinus cavity. The blockage causes an increase in pressure in the facial cavities. That is what causes headaches. You can try drinking decongestants which are over-the-counter cold medicines. You can also breathe steam from warm water, to help relieve the respiratory tract. If after a week there are no changes, visit a doctor.
Hopefully this answer can help. Regards.
