Headache Radiating To Shoulder?
want to ask. Why does every headache when you tilt your head to the left it feels so heavy to the shoulders but if you tilt it to the right it’s really easy to get to your shoulders. Guess why?
Hello Putriy, thanks for the question for HealthReplies.com
The heaviness you feel in the neck can be caused by the following possibilities:
tension in the neck muscles, for example due to the wrong position during sleep, poor working position and not ergonomic
tendinitis or inflammation of the muscle tendons in the neck and shoulder area
narrowing of the nerve canal in the cervical spine (cervical spinal stenosis)
pain that arises due to certain psychological disorders (somatoform)
To find out more clearly the cause of the disturbance you feel, you can consult a doctor directly. The doctor can further inquire about other symptoms that accompany the heaviness in your neck, perform a physical examination, and additional examinations if deemed necessary. Investigations that can be done include X-ray of the cervical spine, CT scan, or MRI. Therapy will be adjusted according to the findings, but in general you will usually be treated with painkillers first.
The following are some things you can try to do to relieve your symptoms:
Improve your sleeping position and body position while working
You can do a light massage on the muscles around the back of the neck, back, and shoulders
Give a cold compress on the area that feels heavy and stiff
You can also take painkillers such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen to help reduce the discomfort you feel in your neck.
That's all the information from me, hopefully it's enough to answer
