Good morning, I want to ask, I have symptoms that sometimes when I move out of vision, I immediately get dark or get a chest pain. Pain in the back Abdominal pain at the top. or not.? What happens if the disease is not treated …? How to handle it.??
Hello Elva Oktari Ramadhanty, thank you for asking with HealthReplies.com.
Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a disease in which there is a hole between the atrial heart chambers. This condition is usually a condition that has existed since birth. Usually it is not detected because it has complaints that are not typical or rarely cause signs or symptoms.
When born with this condition usually it will not have symptoms or signs, but if you are an adult or around 30 years can cause symptoms such as shortness of breath, especially when on the move, easy to tired, swelling in the legs or stomach, palpitations, or heart sounds that not normal when examined by a doctor. This condition if not handled properly can cause conditions of high blood pressure / hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, to stroke.
We recommend that you consult with a cardiologist to ensure the diagnosis of ASD and a more complete examination such as chest x-rays, examination of the heart record, to ultrasound of the heart (echocardiogram). To overcome ASD usually depends on the size of the hole and can then be done through cardiac catheterization or heart surgery.
