Height Growth For 18 Years Old?
Hello doctor, I’m 18 years old want to increase height, but how do I check my bones can it still get taller? Yesterday I went to the general practitioner to ask for a referral letter for epiphyseal x-rays but he did not recommend it because he said the x-ray killed thousands of cells Then, what is the solution? For this, do I have to consult a general practitioner or can I go directly to a poly doctor? Nutritionist or orthopedics right?
Hello M Habibi,
Height is influenced by genetic or height of father and mother, activities performed, sex, and nutrition. Height will stop increasing when the growth plate / epiphyseal closes. Generally, men will stop increasing in height at the age of 18-20 years can be different in every man.
X-ray examination is only done when needed and the doctor will consider the benefits and risks before deciding to do a particular examination. If you want to consult more about height, you can visit orthopedic poly to consult with an orthopedic doctor. The doctor will consider your condition and decide whether an x-ray is needed or not.
In the meantime to help increase height, you can do the following tips:
Regular exercise, for example swimming, cycling, basker, soccer, badminton Consumption of healthy and nutritious foods that are high in vitamin D Increase vegetables and fruit Get enough rest and don't stay up Hopefully it can help you,
