HIV Test Results Are Negative After 2 Tests?
Hello, I want to ask. After I linked my risk the HIV test turned out negative. Because I’m still afraid of risk, after a year I ventured and tested again and the results were negative. Is that false negative and I’m positive HIV? Thank you
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Need to be clarified, when exactly did you run the risky relationship? Are there any particular complaints that you are experiencing at this time? What type of HIV test do you take? What is a rapid test?
Some behaviors can increase your risk of contracting HIV, including sex with partners whose sexual history is not clear without using a condom, having sex with multiple sexual partners, exchanging needles that are not sterile, piercing or tattooing the body, and so on. After carrying out these activities at risk of HIV, you should make this detection to find out whether you have HIV or not.
Nowadays, there are many health facilities that provide HIV - VCT (voluntary counseling and testing) services for people who feel they have done HIV risk activities. This service is carried out by involving counseling, blood tests, as well as education for the community, so that the risk of HIV transmission can be reduced, and even if there are patients who are already infected with HIV, then treatment can be done earlier before dangerous complications occur. Ideally, this HIV test is carried out about 3 weeks to 3 months after HIV risk behavior is carried out.
If you find your test results negative after 2 tests, chances are you are not infected with HIV. However, if you are still in doubt, it would not hurt you to do a re-examination in 3 months.
The following steps need to be taken to avoid HIV:
ONLY engage in healthy and responsible sexual activities, ie sex in marriage, be loyal to 1 partner Do not engage in other HIV risk activities, such as body piercing or tattooing, use non-sterile syringes (for example on drug users) Choose a social environment that is good Do not consume alcohol or drugs Busy yourself with positive activities. Always live a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully it helps.
