HIV Test Results Are Negative?
Good afternoon. Want to ask hiv problems. I have had risky sexual relations on 20 November 2018 until now, I have not changed partners. But I have already checked HIV with negative results on January 9, 2019. Are the results valid? And whether my partner can be said to be clean. Thank you in advance
Hello Ahmad Arif! Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
In general, HIV can be detected from 3-4 weeks after exposure. If you check January 9 and are found to be non-reactive, you are most likely not infected with HIV. However, you may not be clear of other diseases that can also be transmitted through sexual contact, such as hepatitis B, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and so on. Your partner also can not be declared clean. Couples who do not infect HIV do not necessarily have HIV in their bodies. To find out if your partner has HIV or not, he also needs to be examined. It's best if you avoid risky sexual behavior or use safeguards (in the form of condoms) to prevent sexually transmitted infections.
That's all information from me. I hope this helps.
