I want to ask whether HIV can penetrate a wound that is bandaged or covered with clothes ??

1 Answer:

Hi.

HIV is a sexually transmitted disease. But HIV transmission is not only transmitted through sexual contact, HIV can be transmitted through body fluids such as blood. If you have a wound that is open and bleeding, and then you get HIV blood on the bandage / dress, then you are at risk of getting HIV.

But if an open wound covered with a bandage / shirt is only touched by a person with HIV, then this will not cause you to contract HIV.

Therefore, if you feel that you have been splashed with blood or blood droplets on the wound, immediately consult the hospital.

here's an article you can read about HIV

hopefully useful. thank you
