Hole In The Gum Post Loose Thread Odontectomy Suture?
Hello, I want to ask. On Tuesday last week (March 12, 2019) I had wisdom teeth surgery or odontectomy. And on Wednesday, I just had stitches. But when I checked the gum gum odnya odnya, it is still slightly open like a hole and there is black, although not sick. Is that normal? And is it okay if you use it to eat? (I still use the left side of my mouth to eat) I can’t dare to eat on the right side, afraid if there are food debris stuck in the scar hole. Please enlighten me, thank you.
hello, thanks for the question ..
Wisdom tooth surgery or odontectomy is a method of surgery, extraction or surgery on a tooth due to teething in the wrong direction or implanting of a tooth in the gum until it does not come out and feels uncomfortable. usually this case is often in wisdom teeth or third teeth that grow very long and vary by each person, can grow when the age of 17-24 years. based on the complaints that you have experienced, after removing the stitches found like a black hole it is likely that the former / residual blood accumulation that comes out after surgery and froze that usually will disappear by itself or is a process of healing / closure of a scar which is not perfect and not painful , it can be normal and there is no suspicion of infection in the former operation / suture. the healing process after wisdom teeth surgery usually takes approximately 14 days (2 weeks), but the healing response is different for each person. if you feel no pain and feel comfortable, there is no stiffness on the side of the tooth that is operated on, it feels safe, but it would be nice if eating / chewing using an operated tooth to wait for about 2 weeks after confirmed recovery. it also prevents infection or additional disease from occurring in the scarred stitches if it cannot guarantee / maintain cleanliness such as food scraps that accumulate, additional trauma that occurs when chewing too hard, which can be a source of infection occurs. if the suture scar has an infection, the symptoms that you need to be aware of are the onset of fever, pain, swelling and redness of the surgical tooth that does not go away, continuous throbbing, teeth, mouth organs, cheeks and jaws difficult to move, scarring stitches do not heal or fester. if this happens immediately see the nearest dentist. things you need to pay attention to and guard now are avoid smoking, avoid touching teeth / surgical scars, avoid rubbing the sides of the operated teeth, avoid gargling too strong, avoid eating foods that are too hard, avoiding hot foods and drinks.
that's all. hopefully can help..
