My doc has weak joints and muscle aches and hot face, my throat feels runny, fever but no body temperature heat. What are the symptoms, Doc?
Maybe it must be corrected the use of the word fever. Fever is an increase in body temperature> 38 degrees Celsius, so there is no term fever without body temperature heat. Normal human body temperature is between 36.5 to 37.5 degrees Celsius. Fever occurs as a response to the body's immunity, most often due to infection, ranging from viral, bacterial, parasitic infections.
Complaints of fever, body aches and excessive fatigue (fatigue), joint and muscle aches (athralgia / myalgia), uncomfortable throat are common complaints in respiratory infections (common cold, flu, pharyngitis, laryngitis, etc. ) mainly due to viruses such as rhinovirus, adenovirus, RSV, influenza virus, parainfluenza, etc. including SARS-CoV-2 (the latest corona virus) which is now endemic.
Viral respiratory infections are self-limiting diseases, meaning they can heal on their own without specific treatment. Medications such as fever-reducing, cough-relieving, nasal loosening can be given to reduce the symptoms felt by the patient so that the patient can move comfortably. The body's immunity can be increased by:
Eat nutritious foods, especially those high in calories and protein
Meet the needs of vitamins and minerals according to the recommended daily nutritional adequacy rate
Get plenty of rest 7-8 hours per day
Regular exercise or physical activity at least 30 minutes / day, as much as 5 times a week
Do not smoke, do not consume alcohol or caffeine in large quantities
Drink enough water
Take supplements if necessary
If you have a history of the last 14 days of contact with a positive / suspected Covid-19 patient or are domiciled / traveling to an area with a local Covid-19 transmission (especially the red zone) and have a fever (> 38 degrees Celsius) + respiratory symptoms (coughing, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath), please contact the hotline 119 ext 9 or 112 or other hotline provided by the local government. If possible, you can visit a health facility for a check-up (note Covid-19 preventive measures if you leave the house or go to a health facility).
If your symptoms are mild, the best thing to do now is:
Rest at home
Physical distancing including with other family members (especially if there is a cough, sneezing)
Practice the correct cough ethic
Wear a mask, if it's wet, change it and throw it in the trash. If you wear a cloth mask, wash it with detergent and dry it again.
Cough using a tissue, then throw it in the trash and wash your hands
Cough using the inside of your arm
Diligent washing hands with running water + soap or alcohol-based hand washing
Apply clean and healthy behavior.
Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
