There are complaints about the flu. I have had the flu for the past 3 months. Then, what I felt when I drained the fluid was very painful in the forehead. And, the pain was at noon, after that as usual again. When the liquid can come out, I smell a bad odor, and the liquid is yellow, sometimes mixed with a little blood. What illness do I suffer from? Is it really sinusitis or is there something else? thanks.

Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com

Symptoms like you experience can indeed be caused by sinusitis, but can also be caused by other conditions such as the presence of foreign objects in the nasal cavity or can also be caused by tumors / cancer in the nasal cavity or nasopharyngeal area. If indeed you have suffered from these symptoms for 3 months, you should immediately conduct an examination to the ENT doctor so that further examination and treatment can be planned according to the cause. Your doctor can recommend doing a CT scan or MRI, or doing a nasoendoscopy or inserting a small tube with a camera into the nose to see whether there are certain abnormalities in the nasal cavity and nasopharyngeal area.

You should not delay the examination. Even if you suffer only sinusitis (not a tumor / cancer), sinusitis that is left without therapy can also cause dangerous complications such as the spread of infection to the eye area, the spread of infection to the brain and the lining of the brain, or to bone and skin tissue in the facial area.

So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
