How Long Does It Take For Social Distancing For The Silent Carrier COVID-19?

Hello doc, for young people who are likely as silent carriers covid-19 (without symptoms), how long does it take for social distancing until the possibility of the virus actually recovering or disappearing from the body? Because this silent carrier does not show symptoms and is not prioritized for inspection so we do not know whether we have contracted the virus / the virus is still present / has disappeared from the body, if so how long will it take until we can feel confident to interact with other people scr straight away?

Hi Denny,

Thank you for the question.

It is true that you say that in healthy young people, a new Corona virus infection (or the disease called COVID-19) does not often cause severe symptoms, it can even be asymptomatic at all (silent carrier). However, even so, he still has the potential to transmit the disease to those around him if it is not prevented properly.

Referring to the current condition, where the distribution map of COVID-19 is getting wider and massive, then all those who are asymptomatic should be aware of as the silent carrier COVID-19. Therefore, as long as the alert status of COVID-19 has not been revoked by the government, self-isolation still needs to be done. If you can ascertain when your potential is exposed to the virus, then this isolation can be done at least 2 weeks after the virus has the potential to enter the body. But not infrequently, this silent carrier does not know when it is potentially exposed to a virus. Therefore, as mentioned above, this isolation is better done as long as the social distancing recommendations are still implemented by the government. Because, although in fact we are not a silent carrier, it could be people around us who are silent carriers who have the potential to transmit the virus to us.

Of course, the meaning of social distancing does not mean that you should not interact at all with other people. It's just that, if not urgent, indeed you need to multiply stay at home. Even if you have to interact, you should keep a safe distance (around 2 m). Not only that, you also need to avoid crowds of people, do not carelessly hold common objects, be diligent in bathing and washing your hands thoroughly, and increase endurance with a healthy lifestyle and diet.

Hope this helps ...
