How Long Does It Take To Determine Tuberculosis?
Does it take two weeks for the patient to diagnose tuberculosis? Even though X-rays and lab results have come out for a while, the time period is only given antibiotics and cough medicine while the patient likes to catch his breath
Hello Mr Jackee
A suspicion of tuberculosis infection is generally if there is a patient with a cough for more than 2 weeks that does not improve with usual treatment, cough with shortness of breath, cough with bloody phlegm, and symptoms such as cough with phlegm can be accompanied by blood spots, shortness of breath, weight loss, no appetite and night sweats.
Shortness of breath and coughing can also be caused by diseases other than tuberculosis, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma and heart disease.
If the symptoms above are found, then the suspicion of TB can be confirmed by X-ray examination of the lungs, blood hematology tests, blood sugar tests, SPS BTA sputum examination, VCT examination if necessary. In children a Mantoux examination can be carried out. Or EKG and echocardiography if needed
Consult the situation with the closest doctor, or with a pulmonologist. the doctor will consider administering medications such as hospitalization or special antibiotics according to the patient's circumstances.
Eat nutritious food, get small portions but often, drink warm water, take supplements, and provide good sunlight into the house. avoid fried foods or foods that trigger allergies.
