How Long Does The Postoperative Healing Come Off The Pen?
Hello doctor, I’m 27 years old, in September 2018 I had a broken shin and calf. I have undergone a pair of pens and it takes me 3 months to be able to walk normally without a stick. During the last control I was advised to operate off the pen in July 2019. What I want to ask, is the healing time (I can go back to running and do normal activities) after pen release operation is the same as after the tide pen? Please explain yes .. Thank you
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, 3 months after you have broken bone surgery, your bones have been connected and hard bones have formed. When the pen is released, your bones will not need that long to recover because basically your bones are well connected. However, after the pen is removed there will be some holes in your bones where the pen was previously embedded so that the bones will become more unstable for the time being. You can do your activities as usual after the pain after surgery improves, but you are advised not to do heavy activities during the first 1-2 months after surgery (do not run, jump, or do extreme sports).
You need to pay attention to continue to treat your post-operative scars properly so that later does not experience infection. Discuss further with your orthopedic doctor to find out more fully the things you can and should not do after surgery.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
