How To Calculate The Menstrual Cycle And Fertile Period To Prevent Pregnancy?
I want to ask, my menstrual cycle is 22 days. I don’t use birth control. I had my first menstrual period, last month, May 18 2018. I last had sex and sperm came on day 6. Is there any possibility that I might get pregnant? Since the child is already 3 I want to prevent this pregnancy. What is the solution? Please enlighten me. Thank you.
Hello Ni Made.
Thank you for the question.
What is meant by family planning or contraception is a form of effort to prevent pregnancy. Contraception is temporary and some is permanent. The contraceptive method that is better known is the Kb pill or birth control injection. But the contraceptive method does just that. The contraceptive method:
natural methods using a calendar system, interrupted intercourse, and exclusive breastfeeding.
using tools such as condom use
hormones such as birth control pills, injections, and implants
insertion of contraception in the uterus such as a spiral and T
permanent contraception is also called sterile surgical method
The choice of the family planning method is the mother's decision, of course, after a discussion with her husband and doctor. For married couples who do not want to use hormonal or intrauterine birth control or surgery, the choice can be to use condoms or a calendar system. Some couples refuse to use condoms and prefer a calendar system. The calendar system here is meant to have sexual intercourse not during ovulation or fertility. Although the possibility of experiencing pregnancy is still there, it is not as big as at the time of ovulation.
The calculation of a woman's fertile period depends on her menstrual cycle. Normally a woman has menstruation every 21-35 days.
Women who have a 28-day menstrual cycle will experience fertility on the 12-16 days before the first day of menstruation the following month. Or in other words, day 10 to day 17 after menstruation on the first day of the same month. However, not all women have the same menstrual cycle. For that you need to know how to calculate your own fertile period.
You can calculate your own fertile period by: your shortest menstrual cycle minus 18 days and your longest menstrual cycle minus 11 days. For example, if you have the shortest menstrual cycle is 22 days and the longest menstrual cycle is 28 days, then you will be most fertile on day 4 to day 17 for an average cycle of 22 - 28 days.
So, for now, because I don't know the longest cycle of mothers, I haven't been able to calculate your fertile period. Please note that the shorter your menstrual cycle, the earlier you will experience your fertile period, even within a few days after menstruation ends.
We recommend that you check your pregnancy status to a Gynecologist and consult for the prevention of further pregnancies.
To prevent pregnancy, you should use one of the several methods of contraception that I have described above. Of course this choice is based on several indications such as:
cholesterol status in the blood
have had a breast tumor or a history of breast cancer
have had an infection of the uterus or inflammation of the pelvis
bleeding from the vaginal opening for no apparent reason
Hopefully my explanation can answer your question.
