How To Change The Position Of The Fetus That Is Still Transverse At 31 Weeks Of Gestation?
Hello, I want to ask. How do you get the baby’s head in the position of the birth canal? I am already 31week and the baby’s head is still breech.
Hello Anjaly, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
The baby in the womb will continue to move and rotate until it reaches about 30 weeks of age. At this gestational age, the baby's space for movement begins to be limited so that rotation will not occur as actively as before. In most pregnant women, the position of the baby's head is already below at this gestational age. However, if at 30 weeks of gestation the baby's head is not yet below, this condition can still change until the gestational age reaches 36 weeks. If up to 36 weeks the baby's head is still above, it is likely that the baby will be born with a breech condition.
For now, you can do certain exercises to help turn the baby's head down. You can lie on your back and lift your hips about 20 cm off the floor. Support your hips with pillows to keep them elevated. Another way you can do this is to do a prostrate position with your buttocks held high.
You can do either of the above two exercises for 15 minutes 2-3 times a day. But before doing so, it's a good idea to consult with your midwife or obstetrician so that you can be taught to do it in the right position and manner. If you feel uncomfortable doing these two exercises, stop and don't do them again.
