How To Clean The Stitches Of Breast Removal Surgery?
Good evening, AloDok, I want to ask to clean the surgical removal of the breast, which liquid should you use? I operated on 29 January 20, I was also allowed to take a shower (the operation suture was allowed to be hit by water). How come the drainage is still pus discharge, thanks?
Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
Wound care needs to be adjusted to the state of the wound. In general, fluids that can be used for wound care are NaCl 0.9% intravenous fluids, accompanied by sterile gauze available at pharmacies. Clean the wound with 0.9% NaCl liquid, then dry with dry sterile gauze. If the doctor recommends that the wound be covered with a bandage, the bandage needs to be replaced periodically. If the wound is still wet, bandage replacement is recommended to be done every day or according to the schedule recommended by your doctor. If there are indications, the doctor may prescribe antibiotics in the form of ointments / creams / powder to be applied to the wound before being covered with new bandages. It is not recommended to use any ointment / cream / gel without doctor's advice.
Pus discharge from the surgical wound does not rule out the possibility of a secondary infection in the area. We recommend that you consult again while conducting a control visit with the surgeon who is treating you. The doctor may make adjustments to the type / dose of the drug given. As a suggestion, you should always maintain personal hygiene, especially the area of the wound after surgery. As much as possible keep the wound clean and dry.
