How To Deal With A Fever That Never Heals?
Good morning, I have a fever from Sunday afternoon at 3 pm, fever accompanied by body aches and aches, dizziness and eyes feel heavy, mouth is also not good but not nausea, yesterday I checked igG sm igM, IgG was vague results, had been treated with paracetamol 4x 2 tablets, 1×1 caviplex, and 3×1 methylpredison, but this is already Tuesday morning, I still have fever too, so if after taking paracetamol cool body and sweat, but it won’t take long for the fever to go up again, I guess what should I do if I have to get treatment again, so wait for the medicine to run out? Thanks, doctor.
Hello Lindisari, Thank you for the question.
Do you know the doctor's diagnosis? Fever can be caused by a variety of infectious diseases, both viral, bacterial, or parasitic infections. Usually this complaint is accompanied by other complaints such as cough, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, stomach ache, diarrhea / constipation, skin rash, and others. The following are some of the causes of fever:
What blood serology (IgM and IgG) tests did you do? Is dengue serology (against dengue fever)? Serological examination is an examination aimed at detecting the presence of immune substances / antibodies in the form of immunoglobulins. IgM (immunoglobulin M) is an antibody that will be formed against the current infection / new infection while the level of IgG (immunoglobulin) reflects infection in the past. It usually takes a waiting time (after a few days of fever) before the blood results show positive results if you do have the disease so that if this examination is done only after one day of fever then the results will be negative. You will still have a fever if the infection in the body has not been treated.
If you just checked yourself into the doctor yesterday, you can consume the drugs recommended by the doctor until they run out. However, if this complaint persists more than 3 days in the future or if you continue to experience high fever despite consuming paracetamol or experiencing weakness, difficulty in eating and drinking, please consult your doctor immediately for further examination and treatment.
Please do the following suggestions:
get enough rest, limit your physical activity
consume nutritious food
Adequate consumption of water at least 2-3 liters per day
manage stress well
Hopefully this information is useful.
