, I’m 15 years old I have had problems with acne and blackheads since I was 12 years old. When I was 13 years old I took Mediclin tr. But during the use of these drugs my acne did reduce but my skin became very dry. In the last 3 months I stopped taking mediklin tr because I knew it should not be used long term. But after I stopped using it, small spots appeared on almost all of my face, especially on the forehead like pimples, which felt rough when touched. The question is, what am I going through and what is the proper treatment before I go to the doctor??rnrnThank you

Hello Andinalestari,

Thank you for the question. Teenagers your age are prone to acne. This is caused by changes in hormone levels during puberty which have an impact on increasing oil production in the skin. Increased oil production combined with the buildup of dead skin cells can clog facial pores. Clogged facial pores are a good place for acne-causing bacteria to grow. The spots on the face / breakouts that you experience may be blackheads that are part of acne. In addition to blackheads, freckles on the face can also be caused by allergic reactions, for example due to the use of certain facial care products.

You can try the following suggestions:

Clean your face twice a day using a facial cleanser, don't clean your face too often and avoid scrubbing your face too hard. Use cold water to clean your face
Avoid using thick cosmetics, don't forget to clean your face from cosmetics before going to bed
Avoid using oil-based skin care products, choose water-based products
avoid the habit of breaking pimples
increase the consumption of foods with balanced nutrition
get enough rest
exercise regularly
try to manage psychological stress well

If your skin condition worsens or does not improve even though you have done the above methods, please consult a dermatologist for further treatment. Avoid using skin products that are not recommended by your doctor, especially those containing antibiotics like the ones you used before.

Hope this information is useful.
