How To Deal With Babies Aged 5 Months Do Not Want To Suckle?
my child is now 5 months old … from 2 months old he does not want to breastfeed, my child drinks formula milk .. sometimes it runs out 200ml. I am very scared of my child’s growth and development interrupted😭
Hello Andini Sopianti, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Children aged 0-6 months generally need as much as 700 cc of fluid per day where the amount of this liquid should be obtained from breast milk or can be helped by formula feeding if the milk does not come out at all or does not meet the child's fluid needs.
If indeed your child totally drains as much as 200 cc of fluid per day, then it can be said that the liquid is very lacking and of course the nutrition is also lacking because nutrition in infants is only obtained through milk (both breast milk and formula milk).
If it is confirmed that there is no disturbance in your child but it is still difficult to drink, it is highly recommended to consult a pediatrician again to assess how his current growth and development and help you in finding the best solution to overcome your current complaints.
In the meantime you can try to give your child a little but often to drink so that the amount of fluid that should be reached. Even if your child is sleeping, wake up occasionally to give him a drink so that the amount of fluids and nutrients is met according to his age.
I hope this helps.
