Hello Dewi, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Sputum cough accompanied by fever can be caused by infections in the upper respiratory tract (such as pharyngitis, laryngitis, or tonsillitis) or the lower part (such as bronchitis or pneumonia). One fairly common complication of infections in the respiratory tract is an infection of the middle ear (otitis media). These infections are most often caused by viral infections that can resolve on their own in 5-7 days. Usually you only need more sleep and rest, drink more fluids, and also symptomatic drugs (such as paracetamol to relieve fever and reduce pain, sputum thinner medication to facilitate expectoration and relieve coughing). You can help relieve your airways by using a humidifier in your home or bedroom. If you experience swallowing pain, try eating foods that are soft and easy to swallow for a while.
However, if you experience throat pain that you cannot eat or if you have difficulty swallowing, you experience shortness of breath, your ears feel very painful or even discharge, you should immediately check with your ENT doctor. If you experience these symptoms, a doctor's examination should be done immediately and do not delay. If your symptoms do not improve within 5-7 days, you should also see a doctor so that you can further evaluate the possibility of infection caused by a bacterial infection. If it is caused by a bacterial infection, the doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that you have to spend.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
