How To Deal With Cough With Phlegm And Often Fever?
I want to ask, my father has been treated and in positive rungs, the lungs have been hit, now after that for 6 months of control and said healed, well why now my father coughs up phlegm, and often has a fever? Does my father relapse again? or how? how to overcome them how? thanks for the time.
Hello Reza, Thank you for the question.
Have you invited your father to further consult a doctor? How long has this complaint occurred? Various health conditions can cause complaints of cough with phlegm and to ensure that of course your father should consult with a doctor further. Causes of complaints of cough with phlegm are:
upper respiratory tract infection
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
The possibility to return to experiencing the same medical condition certainly exists. However, to be sure, I recommend that you bring your father back in consultation with a lung specialist. The doctor needs to re-ask about this complaint, examine your father physically, and perform other examinations such as blood tests, sputum examinations, and x-rays. Further treatment will be determined by the doctor after knowing the exact cause of the examination.
In the meantime, advise your father to avoid exposing phlegm carelessly. Encourage your father to always cover his mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing and washing hands afterwards to prevent transmission. Please take paracetamol if your father has a fever. Try to maintain health by consuming balanced nutritious food.
I hope this helps.
