How To Deal With Dengue Fever In Children?
Good afternoon … I want to ask, my child has dengue fever until he vomited blood, did not enter the food, is now being treated … what should I do … thanks before
Hello Anwar, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Bringing your child to the hospital is the right decision to make. Basically, dengue fever is a disease that is self limiting, meaning that it can heal by itself without requiring certain medications. Treatment of dengue fever is only intended to prevent shock (disruption of blood flow and oxygen to organs and tissues) by giving fluids through infusion, as well as other symptomatic therapies, such as administration of antidemam drugs when fever, as well as anti-emetic medication when children experience vomiting.
In the course of the disease, a person can experience a critical phase on days 3-6. If it gets through this critical phase, then the disease will heal by itself in approximately 6-7 days, the platelet count will also rise again after the 6th day. For now there is nothing you need to do because your child has received treatment at the hospital. Just follow the instructions given by your pediatrician. For example the child must be satisfied because of the vomiting of blood experienced, then do not provide food for children until the doctor allows it.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
