Hello DokI want to ask how to treat itchy wounds that have become infected so that there is pus.

1 Answer:

Wa'alaikumsallam Slamet,

Have you checked your complaints of itching to the doctor? I certainly can not be sure what is the cause and what is the diagnosis of itchy skin. You also did not mention since when the itchiness arises, are there other symptoms, and how chronologically the course of the disease. Based on your brief description, it may be that itching on your skin is:

Dermatitis that has a secondary infection due to scratching and unclean wounds.
Viral infections that cause itching and blisters.
Impetigo.
Pemphigus or pemphigoid.
Fungal infections (such as tinea) that are infected by bacteria.

Often someone with complaints of itching on the skin, scratching the skin to cause small wounds which are then infected by bacteria. The infection can cause pus. Infection can spread to the surrounding skin, causing new pus.

Consult this matter with your doctor. The doctor will cleanse the wound, and possibly check blood samples to look for possible infections. Treatment depends on the results of the doctor's examination.

Keep the wound clean. Do not scratch the area. Cut nails to keep it short. Clean the wound with clean gauze moistened with clean water and apply an antiseptic liquid. Do not take antibiotics or apply antibiotic ointments without doctor's advice because of the risk of side effects.

Thus the advice I can give, may be useful for you. Regards.
