How To Deal With Locking The Right Jaw?
Morning, From 2-3 years ago my right jaw often locked itself, to ‘let go’ I had to open my mouth wide until I heard a knock. Because it doesn’t hurt or interfere, I’m not too concerned about this. But from a few weeks ago, the left jaw was also locked. And to release the left jaw is a little painful. My question, is this a condition that needs to be treated by a doctor or can be cured by certain methods? What can I do to reduce locked jaws?
Hello good afternoon. Thank you for asking to HealthReplies.com
Complaints often the jaw area is called jaw joint disorder (temporomandibula) where it can be caused by the anatomical shape of one's jaw, using the jaw too much like eating too fast or laughing too big, jaw injury or inflammation such as rheumatoid arthritis. Usually in addition to the symptoms felt locked can be accompanied by several other symptoms such as
Pain around the jaw
Difficult to open and close your mouth and sometimes clicks
Swelling on the side of the jaw.
To see the abnormalities for sure, you should check with your doctor, especially ENT specialists so that further tests and proper handling of some conditions are sufficient with anti-inflammatory treatment and some conditions require therapy and surgery to place and shape the joints in the appropriate position. Some things you can do are
Avoid opening and closing the jaw too wide
Not too fast mengungyah
Enough fluids and avoid foods that are too hard or hard to chew
Compress with cold water for comfort and to relieve swelling
That's the thing we can say. May be useful. Thank you
