How To Deal With Nausea, Vomiting And Dizziness Due To Travel Sickness?
Hello dokDok yesterday I took the bus for about 12 hours. I immediately nauseated, vomited 4x, and was dizzy. I am anti-taking medicine if I can still stand it, but at this time the condition feels really weak, even though I already have breakfast. But just want to lie down. Thank you
Thank you for the question.
Travel sickness can indeed cause dizziness, nausea, and vomiting that are severe enough to make sufferers weak due to loss of lots of fluids and electrolytes. But that's not all, if this condition continues, we need to be aware of other possible causes, such as gastritis, food allergies, gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, digestive infections, cholangitis, hepatitis, pancreatitis, migraine, anemia, vertigo, infections of other organ systems , pregnancy, hormonal disorders, and so on.
Need to be clarified, besides nausea, vomiting, and weakness, are there any other complaints that you feel, such as diarrhea, fever, shortness, yellow, and so on?
If no more complaints arise, the following steps might help alleviate your complaint:
Go to bed early and be more organized
Compress warm stomach nausea
Don't consume spicy foods, fried foods, coconut milk, vegetables that contain lots of gas, caffeinated and fizzy drinks
Not too hawker snacks, especially foods that are not cooked and not hygienic
Eat a little but often
Drink more water
Make yourself more calm, don't think too much
Do not take any medicine without a doctor's prescription
If within 3 days your condition still does not improve, or if other complaints arise that are more severe as we have mentioned above, we recommend that you go to your doctor directly or see an internal medicine doctor for further treatment.
I hope this helps.
