1 Answer:

Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com

Prickly heat or miliaria can occur due to blockage and inflammation of the eccrine sweat glands in the body. Miliaria can basically occur when the body often sweats, for example due to hot and humid environmental temperatures, heavy physical activity, fever, use of clothes that are too thick or too layered, etc.

Miliaria is not a dangerous condition and will generally heal itself without the need for any therapy. But you can try to do the following things to help speed up the healing of miliaria:

Avoid scratching because it can cause secondary skin infections
Cleanse your body by bathing regularly, especially if you sweat a lot. Make sure you use a mild soap that is not irritating to the skin.
Use only thin clothes made from materials that absorb sweat, choose clothes that are also soft for your skin
Avoid using clothes in layers
Change your clothes if your clothes are wet with sweat
Install air conditioner if you work a lot in a hot and humid room or take shelter often if you work a lot outside
To help reduce itching on prickly heat, you can apply lotion containing calamine and compress the itchy area with a cold compress.

If you see signs of infection in your skin (lumps in prickly heat that appear to be enlarged, filled with pus, and pain), immediately consult your doctor for further evaluation and management.

So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
