How To Deal With Prolonged Regret?
good morning, I just turned down a job offer for me, I’m now very frantic like sorry but thoughts of regret are always there. my hands keep shaking. how do we control our minds?
Hello Nahal, Thank you for the question.
Anyone must have regretted the mass of regret for not trying optimally, sorry for not trying, sorry for rejecting something, sorry for having uncontrolled emotions, and others. Regret for refusing to work usually arises because of lack of careful consideration beforehand, because of the choice of work that is expected to be better but the reality is different, because the choice to reject the job is influenced by various other factors. Even if you regret what has happened, it cannot be played back. Try to accept this reality slowly. What you can do is do things for the future to improve. You can try the following suggestions:
try to concern yourself with things that you like, for example, your hobbies or you can exercise regularly
try to think positively that there will be another opportunity for you
try to look for other similar job opportunities
expand friendships or connections so you also get more information about job openings
Tell the person closest to you about how you feel
follow meditation or yoga to help calm the mind
keep closer to God according to the teachings of your religion
get enough rest at least 6-8 hours per day
avoid smoking or consuming alcoholic beverages
If later you experience certain complaints that are difficult to control for example, continue to tremble, shortness of breath, palpitations, nausea, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, do not hesitate to consult further with your doctor.
Hopefully this information helps you.
