Hi son 1989,
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Dermatofibromas are benign tumors that are round, small, hard in consistency, and are pink-dark red-brown to brown in color. Dermatofibromas rarely cause complaints, be it pain, itching, or others. Generally, dermatofibromas grow in areas that are easily visible, such as the feet or hands.
Dermatofibromas arise due to an overgrowth of the dermis layer on the skin, which is still not clearly known. Mechanical injury to the skin, including after suffering a stab wound or insect bite can trigger the growth of these tumors. In addition, other factors, such as age (between 20 and 50 years), gender (women), and decreased immunity also increase a person's risk of developing dermatofibromas.
A diagnosis of dermatofibroma can be confirmed through direct examination by a doctor, while also being assisted by supporting tests, for example a biopsy. Furthermore, treatment can be done with cryotherapy (frozen surgery), local steroid injection, laser therapy, or scraping. After adequate treatment, it is not impossible for dermatofibromas to recur.
However, before making premature conclusions regarding your condition, you should check yourself again with a dermatologist and genitalia specialist. The doctor who examines you directly will certainly know better whether what you are experiencing is a dermatofibroma, or another disease. Some other conditions that often appear to resemble dermatofibromas are acrochordone, fibroaxanthoma, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, skin infections, and so on. Treatment of each of these conditions can of course be different depending on the cause.
At this time, you should not squeeze or gouge out the lumps that appear on your body excessively, ok? Always keep yourself clean, by bathing diligently and wearing clean clothes, so that the risk of infection on the skin can be minimized.
Hope this helps ..
